Yesterday morning, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, along with Senators Wyden and Merkley, introduced the Hemp Farming Act, a historic bill that will reestablish industrial hemp as a major agricultural crop in America, benefiting the environment, farmers, consumers, the budding American hemp industry, and the economy in all States and Tribal Nations.

The Hemp Farming Act will make hemp eligible for competitive grants and federal crop insurance, it will protect hemp extracts and derivatives (such as CBD), and it will remove all DEA jurisdiction over hemp and many other barriers the American hemp industry has come up against over the last few years. This truly a historic day and we hope that the UK and other countries will follow along the same path and support the hemp industry over here too!
